Pro-Information

As you have probably heard, there is legislation in the works so that abortion clinics would have to get parental consent before performing an abortion on a minot, and would have to show a woman an ultrasound of her baby, including having a technician to explain what she is seeing, at least 4 hours before an abortion. There is more to the legislation, but those are the main points I will discuss.

I think this is wonderful legislation, since I believe that many mothers choose abortion out of fear and ignorance. The ignorance is that she does not know what exactly is growing inside her. The words "I'm pregnant" have a very different sound to a lot of people than the words "I have a tiny human being growing inside me, created by God, with a purpose and an immortal soul." Hmmmmmm, maybe that's what should be on the box next to the plus sign! That will get them thinking won't it?

The fear is "I've done something I wasn't supposed to and I don't want to tell my parents" or "how will we afford ANOTHER baby?" They need to get help to discuss this situation with their parents - Crisis Pregnancy Centers will do this with them. And they need support and TRUST to know that their needs will be provided for. God does not give you more than you can handle. I know how hard that can be to believe, though!

These ladies need help, not an abortion that they THINK will take away the problem. It will only create another problem that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

Back to the legislation: there are many who support this legislation - I believe that most pro-life people support it. However, I ran across an interesting spin on things when someone posted a comment regarding it. Someone was looking at this legislation as a bad thing, because it is saying, "first show the woman what it is, THEN you can kill the baby," and this person said that they could in no way support anything that in it's meaning ended with "Then you can kill the baby." It got me thinking, and I can definitely see the point. Jesus warns us about being lukewarm in our Faith, and you could look at this legislation that way too. A sort of "middle of the road compromise" instead of saying abortion is wrong. There is still conflict in my mind with regards to that, because you are almost saying that abortion is ok as long as the mother is completely informed. Obviously, it is NOT ok in any circumstance, but unfortunately our society has a long way to go before we get to that point. I see this legislation as a step in the right direction, which will get many mothers information they otherwise would have been cheated out of by the "Culture of Death" and not had that chance to "meet their baby" by ultrasound.

We have a long way to go to save all the babies, but we have to start somewhere. Let's just keep plugging away at the hearts of women in crisis pregnancies. Let's get them the information they need and the HELP they need to choose life for the baby God has given to them. Let's help them realize that if they are not able to care for the baby, there are thousands of other parents who would be thrilled with the opportunity to adopt that baby and give it soooooo much love!

Let's Support Crisis Pregnancy Centers and keep these ladies away from abortion clinics! Let's pray for an end to abortion, and let's pray outside abortion clinics, specifically that the mothers who feel the need to go there leave without aborting their baby, and that they get the help and support they need. There's a lot of work to do, but Prayer goes a long way!

Caillou is learning to swim on TV, so Sean said he wants to learn to swim. I told him when we go see his Aunt & Uncle, we can go swimming. That was a deal!
